There was a fantastic turn out for this match. The coach was spoilt for choice and after deliberation picked his leading squad. This was the second time that we have met Hopwood Star. It was a slow start initially for Tipton but they finally found their rythmn and started to chase down the ball. We were controlling the ball, passing and moving was excellant. But something was missing....the goals. We had chance after chance. Jade played well in defence and even won her way to a crack on goal. Jo made a cracking kick forward which if it was only a couple of feet to the right it could have been a winner too. Hopwood entered our half once in about 25 minutes. The few chances they did get they managed to convert, one dissallowed for offside but one was a definate so first half ended 1-0. All to play for and the second half starts well, but yet again conversion seems to be Tiptons biggest problem. The defence held up well, Tyler played well, realeasing Jo to make more of an impact in the midfield. Sarah defeated there wingers time and time again and managed to cross over plenty of balls to have cracks at. Loz, Gemma and Faye worked their socks off in midfield, feeding ball after ball, I'm sure nearly every player tried to get a crucial goal. A few subsitutions were made and Claire came on upfront, Emma in midfield and Dora on the left wing. All making good initial impact. Hopwood scored two quick goals, which Vicky Bobby had no chance of stopping. All in all I can understand Tiptons dissappointment, they worked really hard with no reward and the couple of times they didnt, they got punished by goals. But not to worry we will have fun at the next match.
